The 4 C’s of diamonds
A diamond can be characterized by the four C's: carat weight, clarity, colour and cut.
While the carat weight is important, it is not the only thing you should look at when buying a diamond. The other diamond characteristics can greatly impact the look of your diamond even more than the carat weight.
- Clarity – refers to a number of flaw types that can be found on diamonds. You can ask your diamond supplier to point out the flaws if you cannot see them with the naked eye.
- Colours – sparkling white or non traditional loose cut diamonds can be purchased from
diamond wholesalers. It all depends on the ring setting and the bride’s taste.
- Cut – a diamond’s cut is probably the most important factor to take into consideration when buying a
loose diamond. The cut of the diamond influences the diamond setting and diamond lustre or sparkle.
